Background:
Tomas was a second son and fostered out to a neighbouring baron. The baron's weapons master was a harsh man. Tomas, skilled at a more refined style of sword fighting, refused to conform to the man's harsh bashing styles. When Tomas made a fool of the weapons master by sidestepping him during training and then disarming, the man beat Tomas till he could not move, breaking his arm in the process.

Tomas' first love had been music and the sounds of the small harp he often sat in the fields and played. After his arm was broken, this skill became painful and the anger and ire that it did not return as the arm healed, filled him with hate. One day just after his sixteenth birthday, that rage came to a point and he inadvertently killed the man. Seeing his life die before his own eyes, he ran.

Tomas found a home on the sea under a ruthless pirate and by the time he was 25, he had saved enough to buy a poor sloop of his own. It did not taken long though, before he had pirated his way up to a fine and beautiful ship. She was as deadly as she was beautiful.

Tomas' primarily moves his stolen wares through a coastal lord by the name of Merricke ap Cadoc. The man paid well and asked no questions. It was a mutually beneficially arrangement. In return, Tomas had taken on men who were, not so willing to go to see, again not asking the Baron much in the way of questions.

One day, Tomas hopes to return home and take the estate that his brother holds. He has no sibling love for none was ever shown to him. He had learned that life gives you exactly what you take out of it. He had no qualms about seizing what he wished from whomever he wished.

The one soft spot Tomas has is for Cadoc's daughter. Watching her grow from a sprite of 11 to a beauty of 16, he has more then once thought about approaching the Baron for her hand. But the Baron's dreams for his daughter make such an act likely to end a profitable arrangement. While the girl has yet to meet him, Tomas has a plan to make sure they accidentally cross paths. For the time being, he is content to watch her when he can.

Personality Profile:
Beneath the hard pirate exterior, Tomas actually has a heart. He has never yet let his men defile or kill a child or young girl. He has kept for himself, the women in need of gentle handling, and let them go at the next port. His men are unaware that often, he has never touched them. Men, however, that reminds him of the weapons master die slow and painful deaths. Tomas can play the gallant or the harsh brigand as need be. He is intelligent and thoughtful. He is usually slow to anger.

Physical Profile: Tomas is a solid man. His years at sea have left his face somewhat weathered though he hides it behind his facial hair. His hands are callused. He is nothing but muscle, a requirement of a seagoing man and one who must handle others who are less then willing.

Skills and Abilities:
Tomas is an able seaman, navigator and captain. He is best weapon is the cutlass. He is still able to ride a horse with grace and a bit of skill though he could be easily outdone by any man used to fighting from horse.
