Name: Cadwgan ap Iocyn
Age: 41
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 200 lbs

Background: Cadwgan ap Iocyn was born to a noble family with a long, and impressive background. His grandfather had been a personal advisor to previous kings. Cadwgan had made his mark, and showed his compassion, early in his career by sparing the life of a nobleman, though known to be cheating and not of the best character. The king was impressed and gave him command of a small regiment. When he was 20 he met the beautiful, violet eyed daughter of a fellow nobleman, the Lady Gwerydd filia Dafydd. She was only 16 yet she captivated him. After a brief courtship, they were married. She quickly bore him a son, but he died shortly after his birth.

When Cadwgan was 24, Milisandia was born, but Gwerydd died in childbirth. Cadwgan was heartbroken to have lost not only a son early on but also his beloved wife. Worse still he was left, a single knight to raise a baby daughter. He did his best and devoted his entire life to her, even to the point of resigning his command and going into semi-retirement, though he still fought on behalf of the King when commanded to. He had help from Nursie, a kindly old woman who had raised his wife when she was a child and had joined his household when he married.

Nursie gave Mili the female influence that she was lacking until the age of seven, when she contracted some sickness and died, more or less of old age as well. Mili was heartbroken to have lost the only 'mother' she had ever known. It was for this reason, amongst others, that Cadwgan never remarried, though he had been known to take care of his more 'primal urges' when on campaign and under the influence of drink, although he seldom remembered anything afterwards. In a particular campaign when he was 30, Cadwgan suffered a debilitating injury. A healer healed him best he could but he was left with a terrible scar on his right leg and when the weather turned bad or he was under extreme stress or exhaustion, it caused him much pain and he would walk with a limp. Through the years it has gotten a little better, but it is still there.

As Mili grew older he concentrated his efforts on finding her a suitable husband. Because of his belief that women were not inferior to men as society believed, the daughter he had raised was quite a handful. He loved her dearly but couldn't wait for the day when some other man had to deal with her wild and headstrong ways. But every suggestion he made, or suitor that he introduced was met with scorn and rejection if not outright contempt. She grew a bit more genteel about it as she got older, but still would not accept anyone he sent her way. But Cadwgan did not have the heart to force her.

After a brief war with a neighbouring kingdom, Cadwgan's family home had been destroyed. He resettled here in Abertawe in service of the King and still determined to find a suitable son in law and to see to his daughter's happiness.

Cadwgan ap Iocyn

Personality Profile: Cadwgan is a loyal, noble and chivalrous knight. He has served well in battle and is loyal to the death. But the most important thing in his life Is his daughter and he will do anything to ensure her safety and her happiness, even to the point of spoiling her rotten. She is all he has in life and would die for her if need be. He believes in the honour of people regardless of their status and has passed this ethos down to his daughter. It has often come back to haunt him. He is also a firm believer in education and knowledge as great weapons in life, as much as his sword and his lance. He is an honourable man and devoted father, but is only human, especially when he's been on the drink.

Physical Profile: Cadwgan is tall and muscular with a youthful face, but his hair and beard are white. He has the clearest, most piercing blue eyes, almost like ice. He is strong and bears the scars of many years as a knight in His Majesty's service. Sometimes when he is very tired an old wound begins to affect him and he walks with a slight limp. He also cannot hold his liquor very well and often even very small amounts of wine can make him very drunk.

Skills and Abilities: He is a master swordsman and a fair hand with a bow. He is well educated and has learned much in his travels as a knight of the realm. He is also a good horseman as most knights would need to be. He has a great love of music and can play the lute, though he has not done so since Mili was a small child and he would sing her to sleep and play to soothe away the nightmares. He also is a good judge of character. Like his daughter, he has a way of seeing a person from the inside out and can soon spot a blackguard or a heart of gold in a man.
